Sunday (18/10), Fasilkom UI held the 2014 Research Dissemination. This event is an implementation of one of the missions of Universitas Indonesia, which is to make utilization in research. The opening ceremony was held concurrently with one of Fasilkom UI annual events, International Conferences on Advanced Computer Science and Information Systems (ICACSIS) 2014. Both events were officially opened by Mirna Adriani, Ph.D, Dean of Fasilkom UI, and Dana Indra Sensuse, Ph.D, the General Chair of ICACSIS 2014. The event was held in Ambhara Hotel, Jakarta on 09.00 in local time.

This event aims to bring together the academicians and industrialists who are actively involved in the research of Computer Science and Information System. The series of events was consisted of the Plenary Speech from Dr. Ir. Basuki Yusuf Iskandar, M.A. (Research and Human Resource Development Board) and Prof. Dame Wendy Hall (University of Southampton, UK); Seminar from the industries which were yaitu Firstman Marpaung (Intel Indonesia) and Yasen Kamto (KibarKreasi); Research Exposure from Dr. Eng. Heru Sukoco, M.Eng (Lecturer in Bogor Agricultural University), Ir. Jap Tji Beng, Ph.D (Director of Research and Public Service,Tarumanegara University), and Bachtiar Alam, Ph.D (Director of Research and Public Service, UI); and Panel Discussion from Redya Febriyanto (telunjuk.com) and Aditia Dwiperdana (Agate Studio). The Research Dissemination also provided opportunities for IT laboratory assistants to show their core products. In its second year, the Dissemination opened 14 booths that were consisted of 8 booth of Fasilkom UI Laboratories, 2 booths of Bogor Agricultural University Laboratories, and 2 booths of Tarumanegara University.

The event was ended with presentations from each university laboratory that participated in the 2014 Research Dissemination. This event hopefully can give more knowledge and will help to build cooperation between academicians and industrialists so that research quality, particularly in IT, can be improved.
