Rangkaian Pengenalan Sistem Akademik Fakultas (PSAF) Fasilkom UI untuk Program Sarjana telah berlangsung pada tanggal 15, 16 dan 23 Agustus 2018 di Kampus UI Depok. Dekan Fasilkom UI, Mirna Adriani, Ph.D menyampaikan kepada para mahasiswa baru tentang era baru dunia Industri 4.0 yang sedang kita jajaki saat ini. Beliau mengajak para mahasiswa agar menjadi orang-orang yang tangguh dan dapat terus berinovasi serta menuangkan kreativitas dalam menghadapi tantangan perkembangan zaman. “Complex problem solving adalah skill yang dibutuhkan untuk menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0. Ini masih merupakan skill nomer satu. Faktor penting kedua adalah critical thinking” jelasnya.
Kegiatan PSAF Fasilkom UI diisi dengan sejumlah sesi antara lain: (1) Seminar Media Sosial oleh Widijanto Satyo Nugroho, Ph.D, (2) Etika Akademik, Kehidupan Kampus & K3L oleh Dr. Yugo K. Isal, (3) Manajemen Stress oleh Dr. Kasiyah Junus, (4) Kiat Sukses di Fasilkom oleh Fadel Muhammad, S.Kom. Begitupula sesi Kurikulum serta Proses & Prosedur Akademik oleh Dr. Petrus Mursanto (Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik Fasilkom UI) dan Puspa Indahati, M.Sc (Manajer Pendidikan Fasilkom UI).
Pemaparan untuk masing-masing program studi, baik Ilmu Komputer dan Sistem Informasi, juga disampaikan oleh Dr. Indra Budi (Ketua Program Sistem Infromasi) & Ari Saptawijaya, Ph.D (Ketua Program Ilmu Komputer). Sesi menarik lainnya adalah mengenai Informasi Beasiswa & Kemahasiswaan oleh Iis Afriyanti, M.Sc (Koordinator Kemahasiswaan Fasilkom) serta sesi Fasilitas & Sistem Informasi Fasilkom oleh Satrio Baskoro Yudhoatmojo, M.T.I (Manager Fasilitas Umum Fasilkom). Di akhir rangkaian PSAF, dihadirkan keseluruhan penampilan dari Unit-Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa seperti bidang Seni, Olahraga, Ilmiah dan lainnya.
Pada era Industri 4.0 saat ini, penguasaan softskill juga memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Dalam hal ini, Fasilkom UI terus berupaya mempersiapkan sumber daya dan tenaga TIK (Teknologi Informasi Komunikasi) yang mampu mengimplementasi kompetensi baik softskill maupun hardskill, serta harus menjaga integritas. “Setelah lulus kuliah, akan terbuka banyak lapangan pekerjaan yang menanti. Pertumbuhan start up semakin tinggi, sehingga tenaga IT yang handal masih sangat dibutuhkan” papar Dekan Fasilkom UI, Mirna Adriani.
